Journey

Woke up
I woke up to the piercing sound of my alarm ringing in my ears

Washed
I turned on my shower and the shocking chill of the cold water was a slap round the face to reassure i was awake

Had breakfast
The silky nutella and soft bread filled my stomach

Brush my teeth
The minty fresh toothpaste refeshing my breath and filling my nose.

Went to school

The loud music saving me from boredom as i travelled to school

Chapter 25 summary

In Chapter 25 Pip gets to know Bentley Drummle. He discovers that he is quite a sulky fellow as pip describes and that he came of rich people down in somersetshire however unlike rich gentleman like himself he is alot thicker then the normal. The other person he met was a man named startop and was quite different to drummle but had a few similarities. Startop was home schooled and seemed to of been spoilt by his mother which caused him to devoted affection towards her. After the dinner with Herbet pip writes to Wemmick as he had not seen him in quite a few weeks. Pip decides to meet with Wemmick as they discus the resent events that have taken place in Pips life. As they arrive At Wemmicks, Pip is amazed to see that wemmicks house is actually a type of Castle about the same size as a house but with its own Moat.

Chapter 23 great expectations

In chapter 23 pip first goes to the Royal exchange which he finds the commercial world quite unpleasant with Herbert Pocket. After the visit he returns to Mathew Pocket house for tutoring. Pip discovers that Pockets house is quite different to the ordinary with servants working everywhere around the house. During the tutoring Pip meets his fellow student called Bentley Drummle who pip finds quite unpleasant. While at dinner with the Pockets and drummle his especially attentive to his table manners and the way he addresses himself at the dinner table as he is not usedd to being in such a upper class environment. He also observes how the pockets are socially and how peculiar they are.

Chapter 26

In Chapter 26 Pip and his new acquaintances sit down for dinner at Jaggers house in Soho which appears to pip as quite a upper class and fancy house. AS they sit down and dinner is served a pale and saddened women walks out with the food being served. Pip describes her face and quotes ‘like the faces i had seen rise out of the witches caldron’ which is referring to the play Macbeth that he has seen. After Pip and the other have finished eating their dinner the house keeper with the face of witch is with them to collect the dishes to clean them. When doing so Jaggers stops what she is doing and demands her to show them her wrist, after pleadingly refusing she pulls up her sleeve and shows her scared and disfigured wrist. Jaggers brags as he quotes ‘now this is power’. Portaying that Jaggers is quite attracted to showing his dominance over his servants and almost a type of arrogance as he is boasting his capabilities of being able to show his power to his students.
